R.Star (former front man for Stage ? Maverick Records) rejected lucrative major and indie label record deals to start his own label, Stone Crow Records. He was recently honored when chosen as the headliner for a Rebel With A Cause college tour promoting Alicia Keys?s charity Keep A Child Alive (keepachildalive.com). He was also recently awarded a highly coveted performance slot at the prestigious BMI Showcase at this year?s South by Southwest. Following his last sold out show in NYC, R.Star gained attention from a national XM Satellite Radio indie program (The Radar Report) which featured R.Star as an Artist of the Week from Jan. 26 -Feb. 2, 2006, and top national indie podcast Bands Under the Radar (hosted by Kami from the famous Viper Room in LA) featuring R.Star on podcast #15.
