R. Crumb has been in the forefront of American artistic counter-culture expression for over three decades. His legendary drawing for underground newspaper and comics since the late 1960s have made him a cultural icon. 'R. Crumb and Art History' is a major exhibition of over 300 works of art. One half of the exhibition will consist of original drawings, watercolors, sculptures, books and comics by R. Crumb culled from the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Art and from American and international collections. The other half of the exhibition, selected from the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Art, will showcase some of the great artists that dealt with themes similar to those that inspired Crumb.
