The artistry of America's quilt heritage will be highlighted in the "Year of the Quilt," an unprecedented full year of exhibitions featuring dazzling quilts from the museum's unparalleled, comprehensive collection. The museum is a major center of American quilt artistry -- its holdings include approximately 500 important examples dating from the late 18th century to the present -- and several of the bedcovers in this two-part exhibition will be on view for the first time.
