Queensland floods relief event: 14 January at Mahiki, London January 14, 2011

As three Queenslanders living in London, we’ve watched in horror as our beloved home state has been drenched with the floods. Lives have been lost, homes and livelihoods destroyed – and the rains just keep coming.

To help, we’re hosting a fundraiser this Friday 14 January from 6.30-10pm at Mahiki in Mayfair, London. It will involve drinks, music and lots of opportunities to give your money to the cause – all donations will go to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal.

Tickets are also a donation and we’re asking for a minimum donation of £5 each. You must register for the event - visit http://qldfloodappeal.eventbrite.com/ - and you can either donate when you register, donate at the door on the night or just go to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal page and make a donation - and then, come along. And, bring others. Those of you who aren't in London, please let all your London-based peeps know.

The first 80 people who arrive will receive a free rum cocktail, thanks to the lovely people of Mahiki, so be sure to come early. After 10pm, feel free to stay on and play.
