This concert features Six Voices for Sirens, the exhilarating a cappella composition by the Serbian-Canadian composer Ana Sokolovic, featuring six female voices in an electrifying feat of vocal pyrotechnics rooted in the Balkan vocal traditions of her homeland. Accompanying Sirens is the hauntingly beautiful Fire, a setting of André Alexis’ texts by Canada’s most prolific opera composer James Rolfe.
