French Quauter
New Orleans, Louisiana

PyrateCon had its humble beginnings as a typical “Con,” or conference, for pirate performers, re-enactors, living historians and casual pirates to come together from all over the country and world. Our pirates spend time meeting and drinking, sharing stories, and honing their skills on history, shanty singing, black powder expertise and showing the world how to party like pirates.

PyrateCon has now evolved into a French Quarter-wide celebration of American Pirate History, attracting hundreds to the workshops and vendors, thousands to the Saturday night parade, and countless tourists coming to line the streets and interact with the finest pirates from California, Texas, Washington, Florida, Scotland, The Philippines, and everywhere in between.

This year’s theme is "Search For Lafitte’s Ghost" with participating Haunted New Orleans Tours, ghostly interactions throughout the weekend, LaFitte’s Treasure Hunt, Voodoo Queen invitation for the dead of New Orleans to party, and our "Dead Can Dance" Grand Ball.

This year, PyrateCon has the opportunity to bring the city of New Orleans into the party with expanded venues, more hotels, more vendor space, outdoor events and many more charities served.
