"The Search for Life" and "California Skies" Does life exist anywhere else in the universe? Ancient mythologies and contemporary science fiction have presented imaginative possibilities, but how does modern science approach this question? "The Search for Life: Are We Alone?" begins to answer this intriguing question in a breathtaking new fulldome video show narrated by Academy Award-nominated actor Harrison Ford. "California Skies" will explore the skies above Stockton in this classic planetarium presentation. This live presentation covers the stars, constellations, any visible planets, and any current astronomical events. This show changes from season to season to reflect the current nighttime sky. The show may also include the mythology of the constellations, a tour of the solar system, or a view of some of the deep sky objects. The Friday night shows coincide with "Sky Tours" hosted by the Stockton Astronomical Society. Sky Tours is a star party open to the public where you can observe through telescopes and observe the night sky. This event is held in the Shima 2 parking lot and is free. For more information about this and other Stockton Astronomical Society events see their website: http://www.stocktonastro.org/ For advance tickets call the Delta Center for the Arts Box Office at (209)954-5110.
