"Mystery of the Christmas Star"--Journey back over 2000 years to Bethlehem as we seek to discover a scientific explanation for the star the wise men followed to find the baby Jesus. This modern retelling of the Christmas story is sure to charm and captivate audiences of all ages, and "California Skies"--will explore the skies above Stockton in this classic planetarium presentation. This live presentation covers the stars, constellations, any visible planets, and any current astronomical events. This show changes from season to season to reflect the current nighttime sky. The show may also include the mythology of the constellations, a tour of the solar system, or a view of some of the deep sky objects. The Friday night shows coincide with "Sky Tours" hosted by the Stockton Astronomical Society. Sky Tours is a star party open to the public where you can observe through telescopes and observe the night sky. This event is held in the Shima 2 parking lot and is free. For more information about this and other Stockton Astronomical Society events see their website: http://www.stocktonastro.org/
