Named in honor of the courageous African American woman, known as the "Black Moses," who led hundreds of other slaves to freedom and served as Union spy, scout, and nurse during the Civil War, the Tubman African American Museum has grown over the years to become one of the largest institutions of its type in the region. The Museum's mission is to educate people about African American art, history and culture.
