Public Allies Milwaukee advances diverse young leaders to strengthen communities, nonprofits, and civic participation.

Through our program participants (“Allies”), this local nonprofit has provided Greater Milwaukee with over 340,000 hours of direct community service—staffing food pantries, tutoring and mentoring youth, recruiting volunteers, and assisting community members in finding family-supporting jobs.

Since our inception in Milwaukee in 1994, over 230 diverse young leaders have built professional skills, developed lasting passion for social change, and strengthened their commitment to service through the Public Allies apprenticeship program. In 13 years, we’ve partnered with over 100 different community organizations; including the Aids Resource Center of Wisconsin, the Boys and Girls Club, Project Return, and Legal Action of Wisconsin.
