Pruning with a Discerning Eye with Madeline Bakarich

Madeline Bakarich, garden coach, will cover not only pruning your own trees and shrubs but also how to choose and oversee pruning by a professional. Her talk will include the basic rules of pruning and when to question them, how to use your tools to get the best cuts, how to anticipate a pruning calendar, and how to enhance the beauty of the plant in its surrounding landscape. Come with questions for pruning specific plants in your garden.

Madeline Bakarich has been a garden coach for 5 years, after years of advising friends and neighbors informally with their garden design. She has studied horticulture at the College of San Mateo and Merritt College in Oakland, where she became an advocate of the aesthetic pruning method.
