Thursday, February 25th:
Karl Rove will be speaking at UC Santa Barbara and promoting his upcoming book "Courage and Consequence". He was a political strategist and consultant on many Republican campaigns, rising as high as Deputy Chief of Staff for former President George W Bush. After resigning from the White House in 2007, he has been an analyst and contributor for Newsweek, Fox News and the Wall Street Journal.

Rove was implicated but never charged in the leaking of the name of Valerie Plame as a CIA spy, thus destroying years of her work in US intelligence-gathering, and jeopardizing the lives of people in hostile nations with whom she had been working. Divulging the name of a known and classified CIA operative can be classified as a Treasonous Criminal Act. He was also involved in the US Attorneys firing scandal; and the White House e-mail controversy, and claiming Executive Privilege to avoid testifying before Congress.

Free Speech protest against Karl Rove and calling for his arrest for Treason has been organized by Santa Barbara Townhall Meetup, beginning 5:30pm outside UCSB Campbell Hall, information web page http://www.meetup.com/SantaBarbaraActivists/calendar/11943482
