The session will be conducted by Kief Schladweiler, Coordinator of Cooperating Collections with the Foundation Center. This course will introduce participants to the key components of a proposal to a foundation or corporation. The topics will include gathering information to help prepare a proposal, tips concerning structure and writing, as well as how best to communicate with the funder after a decision is made. This workshop will also include a demonstration of the Foundation Directory Online, the Foundation Center’s database which provides information on nearly 100,000 grant-makers and more than two million grant records. Mr. Schladweiler will also deal with points concerning how to best identify funding sources for your organization, highlighting the electronic and print resources available for free use at the Broome County Public Library, a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center. Registration is required for this workshop, which will be held in the Library’s Exhibit Room (185 Court Street, Binghamton).
