Professor George Owen: Eminent Designer and Yachtsman May 2, 2007

This exhibit features selected plans and photographs by innovative yacht designer George Owen, who began his career in the textile mills of Lawrence, MA in the 1890's. His love of yachting and his fine artistic and engineering talents took him to manufacturers and shipyards in both Canada and the U.S. where over a 50 year period he created more than 200 designs for a variety of oceangoing vessels.
