Product Scotland: Emerging Research Methods for Product Design Workshop November 8, 2007

This workshop will cover the knowledge and skills required to undertake research as part of the development of a creative project. The workshop participants will gain an understanding of research methods for design practice and undertake a day long research investigation in the context of a creative design project. At the end of this workshop each participant will have analysed, interpreted and presented, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches, a research “case” which includes the findings of their research investigation. It is envisaged that each research “case” will comprise film, photography, sketch, and textual data. The main focus of this day long workshop will be to observe how people engage, exploit, adapt, react, and interact with the designed world of products, spaces, and services.
