The Society of Old Brooklynites will hold their 101st annual memorial tribute to America's first POW's, the Prison Ship Martyrs, in commemoration of the 233rd anniversary of the Battle of Brooklyn. The remains of 11,500 patriots from the American Revolution that perished aboard British Prison War Ships are entombed in a large crypt under the 149-foot tall Prison Ship Martyrs Monument on the hill top in Fort Greene Park. Keynote speaker will be author and historian David Ansel Weiss, a columnist for the BrooklynDaily Eagle.
