Q-Spirit presents "The Pride Techno Ritual" as part of NGLTF's Creating Change Conference, taking place in Oakland, CA, November 9-13. The event will be held on Friday, November 11, from 8:30 to 11pm, at the Oakland Marriott, 988 Broadway, easily accessible by 12th Street City Center BART. A $10-20 sliding scale donation will be requested at the door, and there will be no entrance fee for conference attendees.

This multimedia, multifaith, multisensory celebration involves dance, music, guided and participatory processes, artistic performances and rituals drawing from the world's spiritual traditions. By incorporating the use of music and high-tech media, this fun, powerful and cutting-edge event helps foster a sense of empowerment and purpose for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people of all ages, and their allies.

Q-Spirit, the San Francisco-based nonprofit organization cosponsoring The
Pride Ritual, promotes personal growth and spiritual development in the
LGBT community. Founded by Christian de la Huerta, author of "Coming Out Spiritually," it seeks to create the necessary conditions in the world for LGBT people to reclaim their archetypal roles of spiritual service, leadership and community enrichment.

Ritual presenters include Oshun Ayodele, Muiz Brinkerhoff, Corey Caballero, Br. Chi-Sing, Christian de la Huerta, Penny Nixon, Karolyn Van Putten, and Afia Walking Tree. The event also features DJ Bryan Hughes and VJ Luna.
