The Pride Experience! Every year at the beginning of June, 500 rainbow flags are hoisted the length of Market Street and San Francisco explodes with queerness. For a city known as "Gay Mecca" for the other eleven months of the year, June is Queer Heaven. Frameline (the International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival), the National Queer Arts Festival, the Transgender March, the Dyke March and Pink Saturday are just a few of the major events that take place in San Francisco during the month of June.

The energy reaches a crescendo the last weekend in June with the official SF Pride Celebration. Vendors, artists, performers and musicians begin reveling the crowds on Saturday afternoon. The next morning, the roar of 500 motorcycles heralds the start of the Pride Parade, a dazzling cavalcade of diversity. The streets are lined 12 deep and 3 high as the crowds cheer the contingents on.

Then its on to the celebration at Civic Center for the second day of our celebration! In previous years - world famous acts such as the B52's, Jennifer Holiday, Jimmy Somerville, Chaka Khan, and Joan Baez have graced our main stage with the best national and international performances taking place on our community stages - the newly formed Trans Stage, Two Spirit Gathering Space and Homo Hip Hop - as well as our returning stages, the Asian and Pacific Islander Stage, Nectar Women's Stage, Soul of Pride African American Stage, Latin stage and more! We also have gathering spaces for kids, elders, and deaf/hard of hearing folks. Read on for more information about each of these exciting venues.

Join us for two days of music, food and fun... all for FREE! No tickets are needed and no one is turned away for lack of funds.

All we can hope is that we can depend on your generosity at the entrances to the Celebration, in the form of donations. San Francisco Pride costs over a million dollars to produce, and we need your donation to make that possible. Shared with charities throughout the Bay Area, donations from the celebration enable us to award over $150,000 in grants. With your help, we can do even better this year, and invest in our community's future!
