55 West 13th St., 2nd floor
New York City, New York

New School President Bob Kerrey engages in a one-on-one discussion with John B. Judis, senior editor of the New Republic, whose articles and blogs offer shrewd insights into today’s top issues, trends, and political figures.

Judis has written for the New Republic since 1984 and has been a senior editor since 1994. He has also been a contributing editor of GQ (where his attire was a constant source of amusement), a columnist for the American Prospect, and a founding editor, and for many years the Washington correspondent, of In These Times.

Years before that, he was a managing editor of Socialist Revolution (which, after the dust of New Left rebellion cleared, changed its name to Socialist Review) and the editor of East Bay Voice, a Bay Area alternative newspaper.

Judis is the author of five books: William F. Buckley, Jr.: Patron Saint of the Conservatives; Grand Illusion: Critics and Champions of the American Century; The Paradox of American Democracy: Elites, Special Interests, and the Betrayal of Public Trust; The Emerging Democratic Majority (with Ruy Teixeira); and The Folly of Empire.
