President Jimmy Carter Reflects on His White House Years September 29, 2010

Jimmy Carter served as the 39th president of the United States from Jan. 20, 1977, to Jan. 20, 1981. Each day during his presidency, he made several entries in a private diary, recording his thoughts, impressions, delights, and frustrations. He offered unvarnished assessments of cabinet members, members of Congress, and foreign leaders, and narrated the progress of secret negotiations. Tonight, President Carter reflects on his entries to this diary. 'White House Diary' is available for signing after the program.
