The Medium is the Mess!

There is no getting away from presentations, whether it’s presenting to a prospective client or to senior management. The trick is to create an engaging presentation that grabs your audience’s attention from the get-go. Join creative consultant and thinking coach, Inge Christensen, for an interactive seminar on building the right content for your presentation. The seminar will show how to use a structured approach and a “burning question” to focus your presentation and engage the audience. Session attendees will learn:

• Rules for building effective presentation content
• How to use a “burning question” to engage the audience
• How to use “the ask” to get the response you need from your audience

*All registrants will have the opportunity to apply tips to a current presentation they’re working on or one they’ve already given and might use again. Registrants are asked to bring an outline or a print-out of draft slides (no laptops, please). From there, registrants will test/refine key points with a partner (avoid bringing sensitive material). You won’t be asked to share details or data.

You Spoke, We Listened

Many of you have requested additional networking time as well as a bar at our evening PD sessions. To accommodate your requests, this event will feature a cash bar and you’re invited to arrive at 6 p.m. for networking if you’re interested. If this is successful, we’ll look at continuing it for future evening events.

About the Speaker – Inge Christensen, Creative Expeditions Inc.

A Thinking Coach and Creative Consultant, Inge helps individuals and teams find the sweet spot where creativity meets productivity. The key to getting there is improving three inter-related skill sets: communication, collaboration and innovation. Communication is the foundation: in 25+ years of corporate consulting, Inge has observed that team meetings cannot be effective if the communication isn’t. In response, Inge developed “ABCaP, A Guide to Getting to the Point (!)” – a four-step protocol that she shares with clients. It works in tandem with innovation and collaboration techniques.

In addition to ABCaP, Inge created “B.I.5 – Breakthrough Ideas in Five Steps.” She uses the methodology to help corporate clients break free of “The Way We’ve Always Done It” and create innovative business solutions. Her expertise is getting individuals and teams to sharpen their focus and think in new ways (sometimes she just tricks them) via facilitated meetings, consulting and coaching.

The owner of Creative Expeditions Inc., Inge has worked with corporate clients for over 25+ years as a Creative Consultant and Facilitator. Before starting her own practice in 1991, she was Creative Director of Hill and Knowlton (Canada). Past/current clients include Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical, Bayer, Royal Bank, Franklin Templeton Investments and others. Inge has written for the National Post and appeared as guest speaker at industry events. Her blog – CreativeExpeditions.com/blog/ – is about better ways to innovate, collaborate and communicate. An artist, writer and student of comedy improv, Inge hosts a monthly Salon for the creative community and has roots in San Miguel de Allende, an international artist’s colony in México.
