Content Management Systems (CMS) help in keeping your website up to date, but there are many to choose from. What are the differences between all of them, and how can you choose the right one for your website? I will present the backgrounds of various CMSs and show different aspects to look at in the selection process. A few examples will show how this works, and we will discuss the particular situation and experiences of people in the audience. Some time will be allowed to the discussion of social networking, e-campaigning, community-building, workflow and project management for which CMSs can be used.

The speaker:
Rolf Kleef has worked in internet applications for civil society since 1994, starting with email and internet training in Central and Eastern Europe, and developing websites and web applications for online discussion and collaboration. He worked at Friends of the Earth, OneWorld Netherlands, and AIDEnvironment before becoming an independent facilitator, researcher, and developer for organisations such as Greenpeace, the International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD), the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), and the Association for Progressive Communications (APC).
