Prescription Drug Abuse / Elderly Awareness Night - To prevent prescription drug abuse, and especially for the elderly facing problems that often arise from taking too many prescriptions on a regular basis (Polypharmacy), Journey Healing Centers will hold a Prescription Drug Abuse/ Elderly Awareness event. The National Council on Patient Information and Education explains, "Almost 40% of seniors are unable to read prescription labels, and 67% are unable to understand information given to them." Based on these statistics, families should review their elderly parent's prescriptions, side effects, addiction potential and ask questions.
