Talking Rock Ranch welcomes the Prescott POPS Symphony, working in conjunction with the Yavapai Symphony Association, for a special engagement Saturday, Sept. 10.

The Prescott POPS Symphony is putting on a special benefit performance of light classical and pop music under the stars served alongside delicious food and drinks from the culinary team at Talking Rock – all for a great cause. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to both organizations to benefit youth scholarship funds and other music programs.

The event begins with a wine tasting featuring over 24 selections, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a fruit and cheese buffet at the Club House. A buffet offering a variety of food stations and heavy appetizers follows at the Ranch House with seating on the event lawn, where attendees can enjoy dinner and an amazing musical performance from the Prescott Pops starting just after sunset at 7 p.m. Following the concert, guests can enjoy desserts and time to mingle with the Prescott Pops Symphony and fellow event-goers.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Prescott Pops Symphony and the Yavapai Symphony Association. Cost of attendance is $120 per person + tax for the general public. Please contact the Yavapai Symphony for reservations and tickets at 928.776.4255 to reserve your seats and purchase tickets. Seating is limited to 300.

The Prescott POPS Symphony was created in 1992 by Paul Manz and local musicians to provide an opportunity for them to participate in performances of lighthearted orchestral music during the summer when other musical groups were not active. The Pops is in its 20th season, and now provides year-round semi-professional concerts in and around Central Arizona. With its intention to support youth involvement in music, over the years The POPS has contributed more than $50,000 to local area intermediate and high school music programs for music, instruments, and uniforms. It has also contributed significantly toward an endowment for a music scholarship through the Yavapai College Foundation.

Entering its 45th season, the Yavapai Symphony Association (YSA) provides Prescott-area residents with live classical music experiences by sponsoring a concert season with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra in Prescott from September to May. YSA also sponsors a number of music scholarships for local youth and cooperates with Phoenix Symphony members in providing classes for aspiring local music students, thereby assuring the continuation of the appreciation of classical music in our part of Arizona. The Yavapai Symphony Guild, an auxiliary of YSA, provides additional support to Yavapai County youth musicians through its Young Musicians Scholarship Competition and a Music Memory program offered at elementary schools throughout Yavapai County.
