Prescott 2nd Annual BBQ Days July 16, 2010

Some of the finest barbecue in the west is coming again to the Prescott Rodeo Grounds. This barbecue competition is sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cookers Association (IBCA) and is an Arizona Barbecue Triple Crown event. Competitors from all over the west will compete for $7,000 in prize money and trophies. Local youth will have the opportunity to compete in the Kid’s-Q division, and anyone can enter the amateur “Backyard Throwdown” competition for the best tasting barbecue.
The event will feature a dinner-dance and silent auction at the Rodeo Grounds on Friday, July 16 at 5:30 pm. On Saturday, July 17, the barbecue cook-off will begin at 10:30 a.m. The professional competition will include: chicken, ribs, pork, brisket categories with the “Backyard Throwdown” participants competing in burgers, kabobs, chili and chicken categories. A $5 event entrance fee will include two “tastes” of the best barbecue in the west. Enjoy the day with great music, a kids fun zone and other activities.
