Please Join us for the premier of “Strange Birds in South Central America”, an independent surf trip film shot over a period of six weeks in the summer of 2007 in Panama and Costa Rica.

The filmmaker, Greg O’Callaghan is here from Holland visiting local SF surfers Jeff and George who “star” in the film. The soundtrack is made by independent Dutch musicians or was recorded during the trip. According to Greg, “The purpose of the film is not to show people how good the waves in Central America are, or how good we are at surfing, its purpose is to show people what its like to experience such a surf trip.”

DJ Paul, the DJ who rocked the Riptide (and donated his services) for the Surfrider and the Save the Waves / Kill the Spill benefit parties will be spinning dub, funk, breaks and hip hop the last Wednesday of every month at the Riptide.
