NEXUS Foundation for Today’s Art and Philadelphia Brewing Co. will serve up a new exhibition and locally crafted ale on Thursday, April 17, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Crane Arts Building, 1400 North American Street. The $10 admission fee includes Philadelphia Brewery sampling, hors d’oeuvres, and raffle tickets for three original art pieces produced specially for the event.

Three NEXUS member artists have created their interpretation of Philadelphia Brewing Co.’s labels and these one-of-a-kind logos will be raffled off at the event. Proceeds from the evening support NEXUSselects spring education program and workshops.

In addition, two solo exhibitions of experimental photography by member artists Susan Abrams and Tasha Doremus will be on view. Susan Abrams’ body of work From Stillness embraces the arts of photography and hand papermaking. Tasha Doremus' is drawn to the materiality of her craft pushing the limits of what a photograph is by adulterating the negative or print itself with slices, tears or burns.

NEXUS Foundation for Today Art and Philadelphia Brewing Co. are part of the burgeoning arts and entertainment scene in the East Kensington neighborhood. Established in 1975, NEXUS/Foundation for Today’s Art is an artist-run, nonprofit gallery space dedicated to supporting local emerging and experimental artists engaged in new art practices.
