Since 1995,
Powerful Voices has provided programs for adolescent girls through innovative
evidence-based programs in public schools and in and out of juvenile detention.
Powerful Voices fosters adolescent girls
development by providing programs and promoting social justice so girls can
realize their dreams, engage their communities and shape a better world. Our mission is firmly rooted in our belief that
strong girls become strong women. Our
vision is for all girls to live healthy,
personally meaningful lives in a society that values them. Powerful Voices
operates two programs, each with several components. Girls
RAP (Rights! Action! Power!) operates afterschool girls groups and health
classes at five Seattle
public middle schools. STAGES (Strength Through All-Girl
Education and Support) offers several intervention and prevention programs for
girls in or at great risk of entering the juvenile justice system.
