POWER PROMISES ~ A Night of Hope May 13, 2010

The 2010 POWER PROMISES ~ A Night of Hope event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, at Heinz Field in the West Club Lounge. One of Pittsburgh’s premier fundraising events, POWER PROMISES will feature graduates of the organization’s gender-responsive alcohol and drug treatment programs whose stories of recovery are a testament to their courage. The event, hosted by honorary co-chairs Karen Farmer White and Dana & Franco Harris, will include dinner, auctions and raffles, and entertainment. The evening will also include the presentation of the Window of Hope Award to Rosemary Hulsman, who has demonstrated commitment to POWER’s mission as a volunteer with the organization for its entire 19-year history.

KDKA News Anchor and POWER Board member Brenda Waters will emcee the event for the seventh consecutive year and Tom Murphy will once again lend his energy and enthusiasm to the live auction. Additional celebrity guests include Darieth Chisolm, The Ghost Whisperer’s David Conrad, Sheldon Ingram, and Sally Wiggin.

All proceeds will benefit POWER (Pennsylvania Organization for Women in Early Recovery). POWER’s mission is to help women reclaim their lives from the disease of addiction to alcohol and other drugs, and to reduce the incidence of addiction in future generations.

Individual reservations are available from POWER for $100 each; patron reservations are $150. Tables of eight seats are available for $750; patron tables of eight seats are available for $1,100.
