Barack Obama’s election is viewed by many as ending a religiously charged era in American political history, but how will the new administration deal with the role of religion in public life? Join two prominent scholars of American civic life for a discussion about the past and continuing influence of religious though on American politics. Featuring Randal Balmer, Professor of Religious History at Columbia University, and Douglas Kmiec, Professor of Constitutional Law at Pepperdine University. John Torpey, Professor of Sociology at the Graduate Center, will moderate.
