Make a Difference - Train to be a Youth and Community Worker

If you're contemplating a career working with children and young people, there's an informal information drop-in session taking place on Tuesday 15th February 2011. This will give you the opportunity to find our more about the Postgraduate Diploma / MA in Youth and Community Work starting in September 2011 at Edge Hill University.

The programme allows you to gain experience and enhance your understanding of youth and community work, as a professional practitioner, through work placements and the exploration of theoretical perspectives.

The Postgraduate Diploma can be studied over one year full-time or two years part-time and you can then choose to continue with a research-based dissertation to gain the award of MA.

On completion of the programme you will have a professionally recognised qualification, highly desirable in all Integrated Youth Services. These include professional roles within youth and community work, youth offending teams, school mentoring projects and some forms of residential social care.

The information session takes place in the careers area of the Student Information Centre (SIC) between 11:30am and 1pm. Come along and meet Ursula Curwen and Paul Bunyan, the programme team.

For more information in advance of this event, please contact Ursula Curwen on 01695 584218, email [email protected] or view full course information.
