Postcard Party: Write to Washington Swing Voters October 5, 2008

Please meet me in the upstairs seating area at 7pm at the Whole Foods on Bowery and Houston. We'll be writing postcards to be distributed to swing voters in Washington State.
The idea is that swing voters in Washington State will be receiving postcards from all over the country, each with a short personal message. We'll leave the address blank; we're going to be sending the postcards en masse to a Washington state coordinator. HOWEVER, THE POSTCARDS WILL NEED TO BE STAMPED. Again: we'll leave the addresses blank, but the postcards will need to be stamped. That means: don't forget stamps. :)
In order to reaffirm the regional flavor of the effort, the coordinator is asking that everyone use local, tourist-type postcards (e.g., "Greetings from the Big Apple"). This is actually convenient because these sorts of postcards can be got very cheaply - you can get really cheap NY postcards (between 10 for $1 and 25 for $1) on 5th Avenue near the Empire State Building, between 32nd and 36th St.
Bronze medal volunteers: will show up and write a couple postcards, perhaps partake of some of the delicious Whole Foods fare.
Silver medal volunteers: will bring at least 10 stamped postcards and write them out.
Gold medal volunteers: will bring EXTRA stamped postcards to share with others.
If you don't have time to get stamps, just please bring a little extra cash to cover postage for the postcards (27 cents per card - estimate $3 per 10 cards), and I'll be sure they get stamped before I send them.
The generic sample message for the cards is:
Dear Fellow Voter, I am voting for Barack Obama because of his judgment, intellect,and sound solutions to the problems of healthcare, education reform, the economy, the war and restoration of America's standing in the world community. With foreign relations expert Senator Biden at his side we have a Democratic ticket to celebrate. I hope that you will vote for Barack on November 4. To learn more please visit barackobama.com.
