POST ZERO ' THE SHALLOWS' SINGLE LAUNCH PARTY featuring ROWETTA + special guests PIXEL FIX + THE MADDING CROWD + THE MILK BAR + FROM YOUR INFLUENCE

Post Zero are a Manchester based based band formed with the desire to re-imagine music and it's boundaries.

The band are James Key - Bass and Vocals, Jay Bashir - Guitars and Synthesisers and Ash Humphrey - Drums.

Assimilating retrospective musical and lyrical influences such as Public Image Ltd., Joy Division and The Clash as well as later day bands like Manic Street Preachers, The Horrors and The Killers, Post Zero set out to inject meaning into lyrical content - with today's zeitgeist appearing in the main to veer in the opposite direction.

"The song is based on the Nicholas Carr concept of technology and the Internet re-wiring the way we think and act. I've connected that notion with events like the August 2011 UK city riots, which on the whole were a hollow excuse to steal and vandalise. There was no anti-capitalist agenda, or any real agenda in the majority, just plain criminal impulse - with some of the participants posting pictures of their acquired items on the Internet. But so many have forgotten these events already - as there is always a new danger to fear. This is helped on by the sheer volume of information we receive today, there is no time for reflection."

Musically the song is intentionally classic and Phil Stector-esqe in its production ethos. A big, melancholic sound to reflect on the past, and look at what may come along in the near future.
