Post-Classical Ensemble - the City October 14, 2007

'The City' is a classic American documentary film, a vivid argument for the "greenbelt" movement, created for the 1939 World's Fair. It features a nearly continuous Aaron Copland score bristling with humor and invention: his highest achievement as a film composer. Post-Classical Ensemble offers a rare opportunity to experience the East Coast premiere of the film with live orchestral accompaniment. The evening also includes more Copland music and commentary by legendary documentary film-maker George Stoney.
