The party returns on the heels of being sold out at Cabaret. The evening includes the play, Amy Freed’s The Beard of Avon, entertainment, refreshments and hors d’oeuvres for $30 per person.
Shakespeare was the first guitar hero
Attendees will be treated to an exciting party and the opportunity to go head-to head with each other on the Wii stations spread throughout the Armory lobby. The games include Guitar Hero 3, Wii Sports and Rayman’s Raving Rabbids. Experience interactive media in a very cool setting and have some fun. Be a Guitar Hero!!

For $30 per person, attend The Beard of Avon on Tuesday, January 29th, and Ken Kesey’s Sometimes a Great Notion, on April 1st. Purchase a ticket to both Fade to Black’s and save $10.

The play: The Beard of Avon

Amy Freed’s bawdy, mind-bending comedy explores the question of the true authorship of Shakespeare’s plays. An aspiring young spear carrier (Will Shakespere) is enlisted by Edward de Vere (infamous murderer, lecher, and nobleman) to serve as his front man for the plays he wants to see mounted. But the questions arise – who actually wrote the plays? An uneducated actor who was losing his hair? Or the brilliant but tawdry Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford? Or was it Sir Francis Bacon? Or Christopher Marlowe? Or, dare we dream it, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth herself?
