Pommery Champagne Dinner June 12, 2009

The delectable selections prepared at French bistro Café Pyrenees is sure going to have people talking. How about a six-course meal served with eight types Pommery Champagne? Imagine eating this divine meal while drinking champagne and listening to live jazz music? Café, Pyrenees, located at 1762North Milwaukee Avenue is in Libertyville, hosts a Pommery Champagne Dinner “The Old Fashioned Way,” on Friday, June 12. The reception begins at 6 p.m. in the in the Cabernet Room. Live jazz music will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by a dinner at 7 p.m. The cost is $75 per person, includes champagne, food, live music, sales tax and gratuity.

The food prepared by the superb French chef Jean-Marc Loustaunua consists of a six-course meal featuring eight kinds of Pommery Champagne while enjoying this overly satisfying meal. The first course begins with Hors d’ oeuvres and the first bottle of champagne, Diamant Brut N.V. Cold Sweet Pea Soup continues this six- meal experience along with a bottle of Pommery Brut N.V. Course consists Walnut Encrusted Halibut served with Pommery Aspange N.V. The night proceeds with Duck Breast, Polenta, and Cherry Sauce with Pommery
Waterbrook Melange Red is followed by a Profiterole with Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce with Villa Sandi Prosecco.

Rose N.V. The next course proceeds with Fromage Assortment Plate served with Cuvee Louise’98. The night concludes with desert, Chocolate Madeline and Large Format, Cuvee Louise, and Vintage Surprise.
Weekly specials include low prices on 1990s Night every Tuesday, Wild Wine Wednesdays featuring $3 per glass wine/$8 per bottle specials and a four-course crepe menu, and Twisted Tap, offering select $1 drafts and $2 bottles of beer, and an eight-course tapas menu on Thursdays. Live entertainment is featured on weekend nights. Regular menu and daily specials are also available on special theme nights.

Café Pyrenees is located in the Adler Square Shopping Plaza, at the intersection of Route 137 and Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville, IL. Café Pyrenees is open Tuesdays through Fridays for lunch starting at 11:30 a.m. and for dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On Saturdays, dinner only is from 5 to 10 p.m., with Sundays for dinner from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
