"Appearing at 93Live in support of their hotly anticipated new cd 'Now Is The Time' - 'A record does not fade in rather slowly. Polysics are a Japanese new wave/synth-pop/J-Rock band, hailing from Tokyo. Their name comes from the Korg Polysix which was the first synthesizer owned by frontman Hiroyuki Hayashi. This synth appears in two of their early music videos. The band started in 1997, but got their big break in 1998 at a concert in Tokyo. They create high energy music, fusing conventional guitar music, with synthesised and computer generated sound. The band has been noted for their energetic live performances.
