An outstanding quartet of young singers will perform a program entitled Poets, Prophets and Queens on Friday, April 20, at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc, presented by the New York Singing Teachers Association and the Lotte Lehmann Foundation. The repertoire reflects some of the most exciting recent vocal works by major American composers and illustrates the powerful eloquence of music and text embodied in the art of song. The program will include works such as:

 John Corigliano: Mr. Tambourine Man
 Libby Larsen: Try Me, Good King
 Daron Hagen: Holy Thursday

The quartet will include four gifted young singers with rising careers. Deborah Lifton, soprano, appeared in several operatic and orchestral performances at the Aspen Music Festival and can be heard on Albany Records CD of A Death in the Family. Amy Synatzke Blake, soprano, has appeared in the Natchez Opera and had several leading roles at the Caramoor Festival and appears regularly with the Goliard Chamber Ensemble. Matthew Garret, tenor, will be performing this season with the Houston Grand Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Connecticut Concert Opera, Opera Orchestra of New York, and the Ontario Society of New York. Jesse Blumburg, baritone, will appear this season at the Minnesota Opera, with Opera Vivente in Baltimore and with the American Bach Soloists.
