On Labor Day Weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, September 5, 6, 7th, 2009), Playland-Not-At-The-Beach is celebrating Wacky Weekend! Every area of the Museum of Fun will have surprises and unusual added touches. There will be a very strange scavenger hunt where you win prizes for not finding the answers. In the Penny Arcade guests will be invited to play the most bizarre game of all time -- Bonzai!
Things will really be upside down all three days at Playland when we add new wacky games, show wacky movies and try to throw you off. Have you ever wanted to perform in a magic show? Have you ever wanted to be in charge of our carnival games? For this weekend you get that incredible chance at Playland!
The special events of Wacky Weekend are in addition to all of Playland's regular attractions. Guests pay one low price to enter and can play all day: $10 for children and seniors, and $15 for general admission. Playland-Not-at-the-Beach is a nonprofit Museum of Fun. Designed and built entirely by volunteers, the 20+ interactive exhibits celebrate the magic and history of America's bygone amusements -- circuses, carnivals, magic, sides shows, penny arcades, amusement devices, pinball arcades, haunted houses, and beautiful art everywhere. Our goal is to educate newer generations about the bygone days and allow those who remember Whitney's Playland and the Sutro Baths the opportunity to recapture the glorious sights and sounds of that marvelous era.
