In this trip through memory lane, the viewer will note the novelty and the impact of the automobile, the introduction of flight, new highway and bridge construction with the use of cement, the galvanizing and mobilization of a populace in the Great War, the use of city parks for war games, the political preoccupations of an era, the focus of public education for boys and girls and a myriad of other details that have played a role in shaping the metropolis. This series begins with the extraordinary footage of the devastation of the Great Toronto Fire.
