Planet Art November 12, 2011

Planet Art is a one-day children’s art festival to be held at the Discovery Center November 12th 2011 from 12 - 2pm. It aims to not only release the artist within every child, but the activist too.

The event will draw upon key principles of the current artistic movement of sustainable art such as cradle to grave considerations and encouraging socially and environmentally responsible consumption. Artists involved will incorporate traditional art and craft techniques and employ them within a context of sustainability.

Hands on art activities lead by professional artists will serve as the framework for the festival - these activities will serve to develop creativity, artistic ability, craftsmanship and environmental awareness. In addition to artists we will have booths set up that teach about and promote recycling, environmental education, wetland preservation and water quality.
