Immerse yourself in the Golden Age of Pirates! After years of searching, underwater archaeological explorer Barry Clifford made world headlines with his discovery of the pirate ship Whydah, which sank in 1717 off Cape Cod. In the first fully verified pirate shipwreck ever discovered, Clifford’s team found over 200,000 artifacts, which include 60 cannons and more than 10,000 coins. The Whydah’s story goes deeper; it started life as a slave ship. Before Clifford’s presentation, see the ship’s treasures and get a colorful history lesson at the National Geographic Museum’s exhibition Real Pirates.
