Who really benefits from the ubiquitous pink ribbon campaigns to fight breast cancer—the cause or the companies? This powerful exposé reveals how breast cancer fundraising may boost corporate profits and brand awareness more than it benefits people with the disease. Despite the millions of dollars raised each year for the cause, breast cancer rates are rising, prevention is vastly underfunded and, over the decades, there have been only incremental improvements in chemotherapy and surgery treatments. Even worse, the film suggests that some of the same companies profiting from pink marketing campaigns may actually be contributing to the breast cancer epidemic by selling known carcinogens. The film shows heartbreaking and inspirational scenes with breast cancer survivors and the powerful commitment of those fighting the disease. Includes interviews with Dr. Samantha King (whose book inspired the film), as well as Barbara A. Brenner, Dr. Charlene Elliott, Barbara Ehrenreich, Dr. Susan Love and Nancy Goodman Brinker, director of the recently embattled Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
