Pick Up Performance Company: “Dancing Henry Five” May 11, 2007

A mesmerizing blend of dance and theatre, with snippets of recordings of Laurence Olivier and Christopher Plummer thrown in for good measure, David Gordon, of the pioneers of post-modern dance, boils down Shakespeare’s four-hour epic into a one-hour performance that captures the sweeping history and romance of Henry V — the ultimate Cliff Notes experience! Valda Setterfield co-narrates the dance/theatre fusion with music by William Walton. Pick Up Performance Company delights audiences on Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 at 8PM in the Kay Theatre.
