Anderson’s campaign to win Google’s fiber to home investment is heating up. In one week, the campaign has garnered almost 700 Facebook fans, has been featured in print, radio, and internet stories, and has scheduled group presentations to targeted audiences in business, real estate, and education! Nearly550 people have clicked through the City website to Google’s citizen input link and we are putting the finishing touches on the City’s response to Google’s official request for information!

Now, we are planning a signature rally to be filmed for a video submission to Google. The rally will take place at 11am on Monday, March 15, outside the Paramount Theater in downtown Anderson. After the initial video is taken, the group will move inside the theater for a second take. If the weather is uncooperative (it won’t be!) we will scratch the outside shot in favor of interior shots. For maximum visual appeal, consider wearing a solid colored shirt in one of Google’s signature colors, blue, red, yellow, or green! T-shirts will be given to the first 50 participants to show up. Head across the street afterward to enjoy a buffet lunch at the Meridian Street Bar and Grill with buffet and drink for $8.

Citizen input will be vital to this project. What can you do to help Anderson?

~ Show up in Google colors to the shoot on the 15th.

~If you haven’t already done so, go to www.cityofanderson.com/google and follow the “Anderson wants Google” graphic to participate in the citizen input component of the project.

~ Pass project information and event invitations on to everyone you know who wants to get on board with helping Anderson win this investment!
