An architect by profession, Y.D. Pitkar’s preoccupation is the shadow, a theme he had explored five years ago at this very venue. This is his tenth exhibition. These images of the few thousand steps leading to the sun temple at Modhera, Mehsana district, Gujarat, abjure the documentary approach evident earlier, making the contrasts of light more graphic and meaning subjective. Pitkar has been on the faculty of the Sir J.J College of Architecture since 1987.
