Photographer David K. Brunn presents hand pulled photogravure prints and Owen Roe wine labels featuring the same images.

Two themes in this body of work are portraying sacred places and capturing disappearing sites in County Cavan, Ireland, where Brunn’s family still lives.

Photogravure is a hand-made intaglio printing process that presses ink into paper to reproduce a photographic image. The depth of the ink, the pressure of the press, and the texture of the paper together create a soft, velvety, three-dimentional quality to the image, in contrast to a hard, shiny and flat silver gelatin print.
