"F*cking Brilliant!!" ~Jon Langford (The Waco Brothers, Mekons)
Bio:
While listening to Phonograph, one can automatically relate to the play on traditional American sound that built the foundation of country and folk music from the 1950's. Although the band happily adheres to its obvious roots, it is simple to say that by mixing traditional influences with the experimentation of found sounds, Phonograph is breaching the edge of something beyond the front porch of Americana.

The reassuring voice of Matthew Welsh invokes the worn-out soul of Lou Reed, whose approach to lyrics span from pop to politics to spirituality... to a longing you can't quite put your finger on.

In the upcoming release of their latest LP and tour schedule, Matt is joined by John Davis, (Bass, mono synth) Dave Burnett, (Percussion) Jared Samuel, (hammond, rhodes, lap steel, guitar) and Abe Seiferth(Guitar).
