Phish: Festival 8 October 31, 2009

After playing a memorable string of reunion shows during the year, Phish take over the home of Coachella for Festival 8, the jam band's first festival appearance in five years. Slated for Halloween weekend at the Empire Polo Club, Festival 8 will combine two of the band's traditions--a weekend festival and a Halloween concert--into one three-day event. Phish plans to play eight sets during Festival 8, with the band's Halloween tradition of donning costumes and covering a full album by another band will resume. Formed in 1983, the band features guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio, bassist Mike Gordon, keyboardist Page McConnell and drummer Jon Fishman. 'Joy,' the group's first studio album in five years, will be released on September 8th.
