The theme of the symposium is "Crossing Boundaries," a forum for exploring the intersection and interaction of biology and philosophy.

This is a main goal of the journal itself, as P&TB is meant to bring together philosophers of science and theoretically inclined biologists to interact across disciplinary boundaries.

This interaction fosters a broad conception of what it means to do "theory" in science and to analyze the sciences philosophically. This broad conception, we hope, benefits both research communities in their ongoing scholarship.

The tentative dates for the P&TB Symposium are April 12-14, 2013. There will be an opening dinner on Friday 4/5, a full day of talks on Saturday the 6th, and a half day of talks on Sunday the 7th.
